Game Recap: 01/05 Vs Iowa Stars (Loss 2-0)

Friday night's game can be summed up in one word: frustrating. In the Iowa Stars, the Bulldogs faced a team not necessarily as talented as their own, but one that got most of - if not all of the breaks this game. Their goaltender was shit hot and shut us out for only the 2nd time this year. Halak had a pretty good game in net for the 'Dogs, maybe one soft goal, but he's had a good year so far and letting in 2 goals in a game is nothing to sneeze at.

The most dominant player on the ice for the Bulldogs was easily Eric Manlow. A much-discussed free agent signing by the Bulldogs this summer, much has been made about the fact that he hasn't been able to score this year yet after netting 25 last season. Well, I can tell you this: it might not be showing up on the scoresheet, but this guy is playing some quality hockey right now and had at least five quality scoring opportunities this game. All of them were foiled by the Stars' goaltender, Manlow didn't flub them up.

I can imagine that Manlow's confidence must be blown after that one, but I wouldn't worry. I think he's gonna break the draught soon and the goals will start coming in.
