These articles always get filed on the Monday morning before, so I didn't get a chance to mention announcer Bill Stirrup's sudden passing on Tuesday, January 16th in the column.
His loss is a huge one to not only the Hamilton Bulldogs, but also to Hamilton sports in general. Mr. Stirrup was more or less the voice of all Hamilton sports and did it for the love of the game. He will be sadly missed at the Buldogs game, with his inspiring introduction to the team ever year and his precise annuniciation. My sincerest condolences to his family, friends and co-workers.
