Final Score: Toronto 3 - Hamilton 2
Last night's game was a bit of a stinker on both ends of the ice. Hamilton lacked energy and initiative, not to mention the fact they seemed to be afraid to shoot, while the Marlies looked like bumbling buffoons, with players constantly throwing away passes, running into each other and tripping ove their own skates. The game was like a comedy of errors brought to life that the Marlies won thanks to some horrific officiating coupled with the fact they weren't afraid to shoot.
Jarsolav Halak looked good in the loss, Mathieu Roy had a nice fight and Zach Stortini was full of beans but for the most part the big offensive threats on the team were just not in the game (with the exception of Grabovski, who pulled one amazing move in front of the Marlies net that almost gave him the goal of the night, if not the prettiest goal of 2006. It was even better than his wicked shootout goal a few nights ago).
I believe the Amerks won their game last night too, so the Bulldogs are back in 2nd place. At least for the time being.
Tonight -- on the road versus the Grand Rapids Griffins. Let's hope the officiating is better.
